Former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman is considering moving to the light heavyweight division.
Weidman is frustrated with the current state of the middleweight division. It has been over a year since a top contender has received a title opportunity.
During an interview with Submission Radio, Weidman talked about the possibility of him moving to the UFC light heavyweight division.
“If things don’t change, I want to maybe think about going to 205 (pounds),” Weidman said.
Weidman is upset with UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping not defending his title against top contenders. Bisping’s last title defense was against Dan Henderson, and his next title fight will be against former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
Weidman is coming off an impressive submission win over Kelvin Gastelum last month in Long Island, New York. Weidman’s win ended a three-fight losing streak inside the Octagon.
