UFC welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal has confirmed that he will be fighting former title challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson.
On Thursday, Masivdal tweeted that he and Thomspon will fight at UFC 217.
“The violence you all have asked for is finally going down nov 4th …. #wonderbread #hoslapseason #makenycgreatagain,” Masvidal said on Twitter.
Masvidal is currently coming off a split decision loss to Demian Maia back in May at UFC 211.
Thompson is coming off a close decision loss to UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley at UFC 209 back in March. In his previous fight, Thompson fought Woodley to a draw in their first title fight last November.
UFC 217 will take place Nov. 4 in New York City. This will be the second UFC event to take place at the historic Madison Square Garden.
UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping is scheduled to defend his title against Georges St-Pierre in the main event.
