Just eight days before Jon Jones fought Daniel Cormier for the UFC title, he sent out an unfortuante tweet about his alleged steroid use.
On Tuesday, news came out of Jones failing another drug test. The sample given the the U.S Anti-Doping Agency was taken the day before Jones fought Cormier at UFC 214.
“Daniel says the only reason I defeated him the first time is because I must have been on steroids, wonder what his excuse will be this time,” Jones said in a tweet just days before he fought Cormier.
Jones went on to knockout Cormier and regained his UFC title, but with his latest failed drug test, Jones may once again be stripped of his UFC championship.
This is the second USADA drug test Jones has failed. Prior to his fight last month, Jones was suspended for a year after testing positive for a banned substance back in July 2016.
