Heavyweight prospect Francis Ngannou has called out UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic.
On Friday, Ngannou sent out a tweet challenging Miocic to a title fight at UFC 218, which takes place Dec. 2 in Detroit.
“Stipe doesn’t have an opponent for December 2nd at Detroit! I’m here,” Ngannou said on Twitter. “Let me do this fight.”
Ngannou was scheduled to fight former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos at UFC 215 on Sept. 9. However, Dos Santos was taken off of the card after he was flagged by USADA for a potential anti-doping violation.
UFC President Dana White recently revealed that the UFC was interested in booking a super fight between Miocic and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones at UFC 218, but that fight will not happen due to Jones failing another USADA drug test.
With both fighters not having opponents, Ngannou believes he should get the next opportunity at the UFC heavyweight title.
