Floyd “Money” Mayweather may have made a bet on himself to defeat UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor in the 10th round of their fight.
On Saturday, Mayweather defeated McGregor by TKO in round 10. Mayweather earned the victory after landing multiple punches until the referee stepped in and stopped the fight.
During a recent interview, boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya said he heard that Mayweather tried to make a bet on him winning the fight in the 10th round.
“The last thing I heard was that Floyd bet on himself for the 10th round and they turned him away,” De La Hoya said. “So you go figure.”
De La Hoya revealed what he had heard about Mayweather after being asked why it took Mayweather so long to finish McGregor in their fight.
After the fight, Mayweather claims he is retiring from the sport of boxing for good. He is leaving the sport with a perfect record of 50-0.
