Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta have sold their remaining stakes in the UFC.
On Thursday, Forbes reported that the Fertitta brothers sold their remaining percentage in the UFC to WME-IMG. With the Fertitta’s selling their last approximately 5.8 percent of the company, the UFC sale is now valued at about $5 billion.
In 2016, the Fertitta brothers sold the UFC for just over $4 billion to WME-IMG. Even though WME-IMG was given control of the company, both Frank and Lorenzo still owned a small percentage of the organization up until now.
With the Fertitta brothers officially selling all of their stakes in the UFC, they have reached the end of their investment in the MMA promotion.
In 2001, the Fertitta brothers bought the UFC for $2 million. With Frank and Lorenzo in charge of the company, alongside UFC President Dana White, they made the UFC one of the most recognizable sports franchises in the world and helped make MMA a mainstream sport.
