Few martial artists have made it to the level of fame achieved by the likes of Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris. Lee has become a martial arts film legend with his series of inspiring movies. Formerly a practitioner of Wing Chun, Bruce Lee would go on to form his own martial art, the art of Jeet Kune Do. While the martial arts legend has passed away, Lee remains an inspiration for countless athletes worldwide. Martial arts phenom and movie star Chuck Norris was featured in the highly acclaimed martial arts film Return of the Dragon alongside Bruce Lee, as it was written, produced and directed by the Jeet Kune Do founder. Now rare footage of Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee each showing off their fighting prowess has made its way to the internet.
Chuck Norris competed in the 1966 Long Beach International Karate Championships. In fact, the martial artist made it all the way to the final match.
Norris faced off against Allen Steen in the event, though the fight did not go the actor’s way.
The point match made it into overtime, as the match was at a deadlocked tie. After landing a high kick to the head of Chuck Norris, Allen Steen took home the tournament victory.
