Lentz opened up the round with some stunning strikes. Maynard was quickly put on the defensive as his opponent continued to lay on the pressure. Maynard managed to survive the round, but Lentz ultimately put on a dominant performance. Lentz landed an accidental eye poke early in the second. However after a few moments, the fight resumed.
