UFC flyweight Mara Borella was the subject of a police investigation within Piacenza, Italy back in 2012. Now it would appear that the country's anti-doping agency has decided to issue a new suspension against the fighter concerning the matter. As reported by MMA Today, Borella and her boyfriend were arrested for the alleged distribution and sale of cannabis and cocaine. The Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) went on to issue a 15 year suspension to Borella and her boyfriend over the matter. Charged with competing while suspended and using Italian sporting facilities while under suspension, Borella has been charged another 15 years to her suspension. The fighter's suspension will end in 2044. Of course, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is not required to acknowledge the suspension. USADA is the anti-doping agency for the UFC. Mara Borella most recently competed against Katlyn Chookagian inside the octagon earlier this year, having suffered a unanimous decision loss. For more MMA news click here.
