Conor McGregor Has His Day In Court, Fighter’s Sentence Revealed

Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor appeared in the Kings County Courthouse in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday, July 26. During the court hearing, McGregor finally received his sentence. "Notorious" was allegedly involved in a fracas that occurred in a loading dock of the Barclays Arena in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday, April 5. A UFC bus was attacked by a large entourage of people led by the former UFC title holder. The intended target was reportedly Khabib Nurmagomedov, who had a confrontation with McGregor's teammate Artem Lobov days earlier. Appearing in court on Thursday, McGregor faced a possible 12 criminal charges. Having formed a plea deal, McGregor's felony charges were ultimately dropped. "Notorious" plead guilty to one count of disorderly conduct. The Ireland native will undergo five days of community service, a 1-3 day anger management evaluation and is required to pay restitution for damages inflicted upon a UFC fighter during the incident. A total three protection orders were also placed against McGregor, including Ray Borg and Michael Chiesa. Consequently, "Notorious" will not be allowed near the three individuals until July 2020. McGregor will serve no jail time and the fighter's visa will not be affected by the court sentence. Beyond that, the incident will not give McGregor a criminal record. For more MMA news click here.
