Dana White Lays Out Plans For Diaz-GSP, Cody-TJ, Rockhold-Gustafsson On Same L.A. Fight Card

Set to go down on August 4, in Los Angeles, California, UFC 227 will feature the return of the UFC's top two bantamweights, in a rematch between Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw for the UFC world title. Now, in a shocking turn of events, UFC President Dana White recently told his official UFC Podcast, UFC Unfiltered, that he is trying to make his return to L.A. a mega-event by booking the return of Nate Diaz in a fight against GSP, and the light-heavyweight debut of Luke Rockhold as he takes on his teammate D.C.'s rival in Alexander Gustafsson. White also threw out a Brunson vs. Antonio Carlos Junior for UFC 227 as well. The UFC president did not announce these bouts as official. However, Dana White rarely reveals details of this nature unless he's relatively confident. Here's what Dana said: “It is true, and (St-Pierre and Diaz) would fight at 155 pounds. There are rumors that we were doing Gustafsson versus Rockhold. That is true, but that is not for the interim title. That’s false. It might be L.A. I’m targeting L.A. In my perfect world, if everything goes perfect, which nothing goes (expletive) perfect in this world: (T.J.) Dillashaw versus (Cody) Garbrandt, GSP versus Diaz would be the co-main, Gustafsson versus Rockhold, and Derek Brunson versus Antonio Carlos Junior.”
