Former UFC light heavyweight title contender Volkan Oezdemir has been removed from his scheduled match up against Alexander Gustafsson following an injury. Now Oezdemir has come forward with a statement concerning the matter. Oezdemir and Gustafsson were initially set to throw down on the highly anticipated live pay-per-view fight card of UFC 227. The event will take place Aug. 4 from within the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif. Oezdemir has, however, suffered an injury. Consequently, the fighter has been pulled from his match up.
