Another UFC Fighter Retires … This Time At Just 28 Years Old

Fans of the sport only get to watch the pain that fighters endure while inside the cage, not knowing just how much more difficult the path to the fight truly is. Fighters sacrifice their blood, sweat, and tears to put on a show under the bright lights and very few make it to the premier fight organization in the world. When young fighters make it to the pinnacle so soon, they tend to stay there for as long as they can.

However, at just twenty-eight years old it seems as if James Moontasri has decided to hang up his gloves. The Black House welterweight fighter threw down with the likes of Joe Ellenberger, Cody Pfister, Alex Morono, and Alex Oliveira throughout his career. His last outing in the octagon resulted in a unanimous decision loss.

He confirmed his retirement on his Instagram account in a post you can see below:

“Thank you to the UFC and all of the people who have supported me. I have been given so many fair opportunities and I am very proud of everything I was able to accomplish. I’m proud of myself and now I am excited for a new chapter in my life. Martial Arts is my life and that will never change. Thank you to my Big J, my management, my team, my coaches, and my amazing fans. I love you all very much #moonwalker #retired ?????”
