Brock Lesnar Retires

UFC President Dana White is closing the door on former UFC heavyweight champion and current WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar, returning to the UFC.

Brock Lesnar made a major impact the moment he stepped foot inside the octagon, pummeling Frank Mir before he walked into a submission. Lesnar learned from his mistakes, bounced back in a major way and defeated Randy Couture to become the UFC Heavyweight Champion at “UFC 91”.

UPDATE: MMA Imports got in touch with a UFC representative to confirm the news that Lesnar has retired.

It appears as if that will be his lone heavyweight championship as the Minnesotan, now Canadian, has notified UFC that he will be hanging up his gloves for good, MMA Fighting reports.

Lesnar has not been seen inside the octagon since “UFC 200” where he plowed through Mark Hunt in the co-main event to pick up a unanimous decision victory. It was later revealed that Lesnar not only got flagged for one of his tests by USADA, but two. The drug test failure set off a chain of events that have ultimately brought Hunt and UFC to a lawsuit, and an unrelated retirement from Lesnar.
