Newly minted UFC female featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie is less than 24-hours into her championship reign and already surrounded by controversy.
She’s now the UFC’s inaugural 145 pound champ, but many question how she got there.
Not only do many feel Holm should have gotten the judges decision, but, more than anything, people are talking about her late shots after the bell sounded on multiple rounds. The strikes after the bell(s) often wobbled Holm and were some of the most significant strikes of the bout.
It didn’t take long for de Randamie to apologize for her actions though, after the fight she stated, “It was in the heat of the moment. I apologize. It was in the heat of the moment. I apologize. I’m not like that.”
All good now, right?
