Here’s How McGregor’s New NAC Punishment Impacts His Fight With Mayweather

Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Conor McGregor stood in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Wednesday morning to find out his new fate following his “UFC 202” bottle throwing incident with Nate Diaz. McGregor was previously fined $150,000 by the athletic commission but requested a second hearing which was granted for earlier this week.

Conor’s fine has been decreased to just $25,000 and only twenty-five hours of community service. That is a $50,000 decrease in money owed as half of the aforementioned $150,000 penalty was an estimated value of his PSA.

FOX Sports reported that McGregor had previously applied for a boxing license, but was denied due to the hefty fine he had not paid off at that time. Now that his $150,000 fine has been decreased to just $25,000, Damon Martin is reporting that McGregor will pay off the fine immediately and apply for his boxing license.

If McGregor is approved, which he likely will be, it will be one less obstacle blocking the way from making the cross-sport dream fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. finally come true.

The two have been teasing the fight for over a year, and it’s becoming more and more of a reality as each day passes. Do you think this fight will go down?
