“UFC Fight Night 107” got off to a bit of a slow start when Lina Lansberg and Lucie Pudilova battled for women’s bantamweight supremacy in the first fight of the night. Lansberg pushed the pace, forcing Pudilova to adapt to her strategy and fight off the takedown for the majority of the opening round. Pudilova saw glimmers of success with her striking when there was distance between the two, but Lansberg took advantage of that distance in the second round when she took her down to the mat.
By the time the second round wrapped up, both fighters struggled to make it back to their feet due to fatigue. However, once the fight resumed in the final round their pace was impressive compared to moments ago.
Pudilova turned up the pace in the second minute of the final round, slicing Lansberg open with some elbows before getting pressed back up against the fence. As time went on, both women became more and more exhausted and their punches got more labored, easily avoidable. While Pudilova landed more strikes in the third round, it was Lansberg’s octagon control in the first round that made for the most decisive round.
Lina Lansberg def. Lucie Pudilova by way of Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
