Vitor Belfort Breaks His Silence, Releases First Statement Since Brutal Loss To Gastelum

UFC legend Vitor Belfort faced his third consecutive defeat inside the octagon over the weekend. Losing in the first round, Belfort was defeated by Kelvin Gastelum by way of TKO in the main event of UFC Fight Night 106.

In the post-fight press conference, Belfort admitted that he has plans to retire after his final contractual fight with the UFC.

Now, the former light heavyweight champion has gone to Instagram to break his silence after the defeat in Brazil at UFC Fight Night 106.

“Gratitude…The feeling that a have right now. No victory or belt is greater than all the love I’ve been receiving from everyone. Fortaleza; you are awesome! Brazil; I am proud of having your support since the beginning of my career. All my fans around the world; thank you for making me feeling at home anywhere I go. ‘When I was a kid, used to think like a kid and used to act like a kid. But when I grew up left these things behind…’ Now as an adult I understand that everything has its own time. I didn’t walk from the Octagon as the winner, but I am far from feeling as a loser. I am proud of the career I have built. My legacy, praise God, goes beyond titles. My biggest accomplishments are: smiles, hugs, words of encouragement that I receive from all of you. You guys are awesome!!! No words to describe. Supporting me when I have my hand raised in the Octagon is easy, but you regardless of the outcome you are always there for me. I am more than a winner! I am more than blessed! Thank you Lord for everything you have done for me throughout my journey.”

The feeling that a have right now.
