Conor McGregor Just Destroyed Boxing, And All It’s Athletes With One Massive Insta-Diss

It’s hard to deny the fact that Mixed Martial Arts changed the rules of combat forever.

At one point in time in this world’s history, real men fought in a fair fight standing up. The UFC changed the culture of combat with the inclusion of grappling. A grappling based fighter has just as much right to be inside the cage under the UFC banner, as a stand up fighter does, but nowadays these issues hardly arise.

If you’re going to be in the UFC you better know it all.

We once saw how a boxer faired against an elite level UFC fighter when Boxing champion James Toney got flattened by Randy Couture in under a round.

Now, Boxing’s Floyd Mayweather is up for letting Conor McGregor come and threaten his storied unbeaten reign. But, he wants to do it under the widely accepted rules of boxing.

McGregor has agreed to it, and while we wait for this bout to either become official, or go away for good, Conor just sent out the following:

Myself and @sbgcharlestown have been working together on unrestricted, unarmed fighting, since we are kids.

Not much will change when I fight under the famed, yet very limited, Queensbury rules.

No disrespect to single discipline fighters, from boxing to kicking to grappling, just know that understanding one style of fighting is simply not enough. You are lying to yourself. You are easily dismantled in a true fight. A fight with no rules to protect you.

In a straight fight, you do not possess enough tools to keep you alive. You will be dismantled and killed.

Like the late, great Bruce Lee once said: “When you are talking about fighting, as it is, with no rules, well then baby, you’d better train every part of your body”
