D.C. Dodges Questions About Controversial Weigh-Ins Stunt He Pulled Today

The weigh-ins for UFC 210 did not go down without their share of controversy. UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier first hit the scales at 206.2 pounds, putting the champion 1.2 pounds overweight.

Minutes later, Cormier returned to the scale at exactly 205 pounds. Cormier’s sudden drop in weight has stirred some speculation in the community.

The fighter was forced to take off his clothes to make weight, allowing Cormier to be shielded by a towel for the weigh-in. Cormier held the towel for the weigh-in, creating the recent controversy. Some believe the champion applied his own weight to the towel, allowing him to make the scale.

When asked why he used the towel, Cormier responded:

“I mean, I didn’t want you guys to see my junk.” He said. After being asked about the incident again, the champion said “What does doing that do? I don’t understand. It’s not something I’ve done before. No, I just wanted to make sure that I didn’t show my junk.”

UFC 210 goes down tomorrow night inside the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. Cormier will be defending his belt from Anthony “Rumble” Johnson in the title fight rematch main event.
