Former UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier threw verbal jabs at each other on Twitter.
On Wednesday, Poirier asked Alvarez whether or not the two will fight again and that is what began the heated exchange.
Last month, at UFC 211, Alvarez and Poirier fought in an exciting lightweight battle that ended abruptly. In the second round, Alvarez landed multiple illegal knees that ended the fight. Since the referee believed Alvarez didn’t know his strikes were illegal, the fight was ruled a no contest.
During their exchange, Alvarez was not apologetic about the illegal blows. He claimed Poirier could have continued the fight if he wanted to.
“You fucked me up good already (laughing emoji) And I ate it up … when I gave it back You Quit, You were good 2 continue, You know it , don’t B tuff,” Alvarez said in a tweet directed at Poirier.
