Breaking Records: Floyd Mayweather Will Surpass $1 Billion In Earnings Following McGregor Fight

Floyd “Money” Mayweather surely lives up to his nickname.

After he fights UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor, Mayweather is expected to surpass $1 billion in his total career earnings.

Leonard Ellerbe, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, revealed Mayweather’s historic financial milestone during a recent interview with MMAjunkie.

“I don’t think he’s doing too bad. I think with this fight deal he’ll be one of three athletes, along with Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods, to go over a billion dollars,” Ellerbe said. “I don’t think he’s doing too bad.”

Mayweather is currently preparing to come out of retirement to fight  Conor McGregor after being retired for almost two years.

The biggest payday of Mayweather’s career came from his fight in 2015 against Manny Pacquiao. In that fight, Mayweather made an estimated $250 million.

As of now, there is a good chance Mayweather will make even more money when he fights the UFC champion.

Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Saturday, August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
