Daniel Cormier Issues Public Apology To Big John McCarthy

Saturday was a rough night for anyone on the Daniel Cormier bandwagon. That’s because for the first time in his storied combat career D.C. was finished in a fight.

Not only was Cormier finished, he was finished brutally by his bitter rival Jon Jones in the night’s main event.

Following the bout, D.C. was rushed on his feet too quick and out of sorts he started to charge referee Big John McCarthy for what he believed was an early stoppage.

It was the opposite though, Big John gave D.C. too much time, and many point to it as an actual late stoppage.

After clearing his head, and figuring out what really happened in the cage that night, the always classy D.C. issued a public apology to “Big” John.

He stated via his instagram:

“… To Big John McCarthy, I would like to apologize for acting up with you. I am thankful for the time you gave me to try and defend myself and stay in the fight. You are the best in the business for a reason.”
