That Time when Nick Diaz showed Japan the Stockton Mentality (And Slap)

In 2008, Nick Diaz traveled to Japan and introduced the country to the Stockton mentality of fighting.

At a DREAM event, Diaz fought Katsuya Inoue. Diaz was aggressive throughout the fight and showed off the style of fighting that made him one of the sports most beloved figures.

Whether he was throwing punches or doing the Stockton slap, Diaz dominated the fight throughout. In the end, Diaz earned a TKO victory after Inoue’s corner threw in the towel.

In the video below, you can see Diaz earn his first victory in the country of Japan.

This win against Inoue started an 11-fight win streak for Diaz. During his win streak, Diaz won the Strikeforce Welterweight Championship and returned to the UFC. He also earned impressive wins against Frank Shamrock, KJ Noons, Scott Smith, Paul Daley, and BJ Penn.
