Dana White Breaks His Silence On Floyd Mayweather To The UFC: ‘It’s Real! We’re Working On A Deal’

UFC President Dana White has broken his silence on the recent rumors that Floyd Mayweather may return to fighting, but in the UFC.

Last week Floyd himself was the first to make a statement on the subject, stating, “They just called me not too long ago and asked me to come back,” said Mayweather. I can come right back. If I wanted to, I can come right back to the UFC. I can go fight in the Octagon. I can do a three- or four-fight deal in the Octagon and make a billion dollars. Remember, I’m Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather.”

Then yesterday Joe Rogan revealed what he knew, stating, “Dana told me that Floyd wants to make a deal in the UFC, like legitimately.”

Now Dana White just told ESPN that there’s truth to these statements. The UFC boss said, “We’re talking to Floyd about doing a UFC deal. It’s real. He was talking about [boxing] Conor McGregor. Was that real? Have you heard Floyd talk about many things that aren’t real? He usually tips his hand when he’s in the media, and then that s— ends up happening.

“We’re interested in doing something with Floyd. Everything is a realistic possibility. Mayweather vs. McGregor f—ing happened. Anything is possible.”

Floyd Mayweather retired from the world of boxing with a perfect 50-0 record, following his stoppage over Conor McGregor. A move to MMA would keep his boxing legacy intact, and allow him to make what he’s reported to be a billion dollars.

Boxers in the past have not done well in the UFC, however, with the right match ups, Floyd may stand a chance.
