Sage Northcutt Breaks His Silence On Being Passed Up For New “Rocky” Film Role

Team Alpha Male warrior Sage Northcutt has taken the mixed martial arts world by storm. The 21-year-old is already on the roster of the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion, having faced off against some seriously tough opponents under the UFC banner.

With that in mind, the budding fighter recently made a social media campaign in hopes of another venture. This time, however, things did not go Northcutt’s way.

Sylvester Stallone is currently looking to add to the acclaimed Rocky series with another film. Creed 2 is set to see the son of iconic character Ivan Drago, who was played by Dolph Lundgren in Rocky IV, face off in the squared circle.

Sage Northcutt has been campaigning for the acting role over social media, after fight fans began to get speculate the fighter’s potential perfect match for the role. Northcutt even managed to land an audition.

However, it was recently revealed that the position has been filled by German-Romanian boxer Florian Munteanu.

Speaking on the latest edition of The MMA Hour, Northcutt has now come forward with his thoughts on the matter.

“No sir, I did not get the part unfortunately. It would have been super cool to get that. But, I think things work out the way they work out and hopefully we’ll see something big come in, maybe as a main part or a main role in the future.

“I can’t say much, but maybe there’s something in the works. We’ll see what happens…”

“You know what, I thought, and a lot of my fans and friends thought, that I looked just like [Ivan Drago].”

“I wasn’t upset at all. I mean, I guess what happens is supposed to happen. I’m still going to go see the movie, I’m excited to see it. It would have been cool to get it of course, but there’s always things in the future to look forward to.”

Creed 2 is set to release Nov. 21.
