Tyron Woodley Reacts To The UFC Putting Up An Interim Belt In His Division

The undisputed kind of the UFC’s welterweight division hasn’t fought in 8 months, partly due to a recent shoulder surgery that has sidelined him.

Now, instead of the UFC sitting idle and waiting for Tyron Woodley to return to action, it appears as if the promotion is readying to give up an interim title in their 170 pound division.

Rumors started to circulate today, that Rafael dos Anjos and Colby Covington will face off in Brazil, at UFC 224 for the interim strap.

Both fighters are at the top of the food chain in the welterweight division, and with Woodley’s recent absence, the most isn’t an unheard of strategy to employ.

Still though, when MMA great Ben Askren chimed in on the topic today via twitter, Tyron Woodley shared his sentiment, and responded in kind.
