Robert Whittaker Gives A Target Date For His Octagon Return

UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker is currently resting up after a recent injury. Now the fighter has come forward to reveal when he believes he will be able to defend his title once again.

Robert Whittaker faced off against tough division contender Yoel Romero in a highly anticipated rematch back at UFC 225. Romero suffered a unanimous decision loss in their first match up and suffered much of the same in the rematch.

The fight ultimately went the distance with Whittaker earning a split decision victory over the “Soldier of God.” Romero broke his hand during the fight and has been resting ever since.

Speaking on ESPN’s Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, Robert Whittaker has revealed that Feb. of 2019 is his new expected targeted return date. The champion has been locked in as the new coach across from Kelvin Gastelum for season 28 of The Ultimate Fighter. Gastelum and Whittaker will fight for the title after the airing of the show.
