Conor McGregor Explains His Recent Silence

Fans and fighters alike have not seen or heard much from UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor since his win at “UFC 205”. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, McGregor has come out in the open about his recent media silence:

“I’ve done everything I said I was going to do. I was laughed at. I was literally laughed at to when that second world title. When I said that I was going to take these two world titles down, I was laughed at. That’s never gonna happen. An Irish man even winning in the UFC, when I said that, I was laughed at. So, I said I was going to win the two world titles. I won them. I did everything I said I was going to do. I just want to take a step back, chill. I want to celebrate with my fans. I’ve been working so hard and my fans have been following me all over the world. So, I just want to enjoy my life and chill for a little bit. A lot is going on, but I’ve stayed in the game. I may not have been as vocal, but I’ve been tactical. Every move is a calculated step, make no mistake about that. It’s only January of 2017.”

McGregor’s plans for 2017 are probably anything but laid back. That being said, off time is important for anyone. The original interview can be viewed here, by means of pay-per-view.
