Cormier announced the fight during Wednesday’s episode of UFC Tonight on FOX Sports 1.
Cormier won the vacant UFC title after defeating Johnson in May 2015. He has since gone on to defend the title once against Alexander Gustafsson in Oct. 2015.
Cormier is currently coming off a decision win, in a nontitle bout, against former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva.
Johnson has gone on a knockout spree since losing to Cormier. Johnson has knocked out his last three opponents. His victims include Jimi Manuwa, Ryan Bader, and Glover Teixeira.
UFC 210 takes place April 8 in Buffalo, New York. The event will also feature a middleweight fight between former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman and Gegard Mousasi.
