Joanna Champion Shoots Down “Karate Hottie” Fight Rumors

UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk has turned down rumors that she is defending her title against Michelle Waterson in her next fight.

On Saturday, Jedrzejczyk talked about this rumor while attending “UFC on FOX: Shevchenko vs. Pena” at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

“There’s a rumor that I’m going to fight Michelle Waterson on (UFC) 210, but no, it’s not true,” Jedrzejczyk said. “I was surprised because I’ve got so many phone calls, so many messages because I was super busy for the last three day. I saw the information, and I even called Sean (Shelby) last night and I was like, ‘What is going on?’ But no, I’m not going to fight Michelle Waterson yet. Not at 210. I’m still waiting for the date and name of my opponent.”

Jedrzejczyk said she will start her training camp this week and will learn who her next opponent is in the next few days.

Jedrzejczyk is undefeated with 13 wins. Her last five fights have all been for a UFC title. She has UFC victories over Juliana Lima, Claudia Gadelha, Carla Esparza, Jessica Penna, Valerie Letourneau, and Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
