Joanna Enters Training Camp For Next Fight, Keeps Opponent Secret

UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk may have her next title defense scheduled.

Jedrzejczyk posted a photo on her Instagram, on Tuesday, with her coach Matt Brown. In her picture’s caption, she says she is “about to start a camp and put on great work again.”

With Jedrzejczyk back in the U.S and starting a training camp, this likely means the champion has a scheduled fight.

As of late, the UFC has been waiting to announce title fights and main events until closer to their dates due to the history of main event fighters pulling out of fights due to injuries.

As of now, no opponents have been named for Jedrzejczyk. Strawweight contender Jessica Andrade said she was recently offered a title opportunity, but she turned it down because she wanted one more fight before fighting for the title. Andrade will fight Angela Hill on Feb. 4 at a UFC Fight Night event in Houston, Texas.

Michelle Waterson is another top choice to fight Jedrzejczyk. Waterson is coming off a first-round submission victory over Paige VanZant in December.

Jedrzejczyk is undefeated with 13 wins, seven in the UFC, and four successful title defenses. She is coming off a decision victory over Karolina Kowalkiewicz in November at UFC 205. Jedrzejczyk also has title victories over Carla Esparza, Jessica Penne, Valerie Letourneau, and Claudia Gadelha.
