Three men have been taken to the hospital after a massive brawl took place in Manchester, England following UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor’s interview with MMA journalist Ariel Helwani at EventCity.
Manchester Evening News has reported that police were called to the scene as of around 4:00 A.M of the morning after the event. Three men were severely injured, with 15 to 20 people expected to have been involved in the massive brawl.
Detective Inspector John Stainton of the Stretford Police Station gave a statement to the Manchester Evening News.
“There was a lot of confusion about what happened and how many people were involved in last night’s fighting but we are now clear that there were a maximum of around 20 people involved in the disorder. We are appealing for anyone who saw anything to get in touch as soon as possible. Behavior like we saw last night is not acceptable and I’m only thankful that there weren’t any more serious injuries.”
The UFC champion’s Manchester event housed nearly 5,000 people and has been taken the MMA industry by storm, as McGregor released startling news at the event.
