Ultimate Fighting Championship’s schedule is as busy as ever looking down the barrel of 2017. However, the lack of names like Ronda Rousey, Jon “Bones” Jones, and Conor McGregor should call for UFC to pick up their phones and call whoever they can to garner some attention. One of the biggest stars of 2016 in Nate Diaz is just a phone call away it seems, but he feels like the company has simply put him on the shelf to collect dust.
Diaz opened up to LA Times about his current status with the company, and explained that he is actually working on getting a boxing license for Nevada:
“I know what this is: I’m being put on the shelf,” Diaz told the Los Angeles Times on Saturday night while attending the Bellator event at the Forum. That’s why I’m trying to get a boxing license.”
McGregor got his boxing license late last year; Could Diaz and McGregor be eyeing a rubber match inside a boxing ring, rather than the octagon?
