MMA fans in the Middle East and Northern Africa will soon be able to watch UFC action in their homes.
OSN, a television operator based out of the Middle East, has reportedly signed a multi-year deal with the UFC for the exclusive rights to air UFC fights in the Middle East and North Africa. OSN offers over 150 channels, which includes HD channels and on-demand services, to its subscribers.
The new deal between the UFC and OSN was first reported by Sport Business.
“UFC on OSN will be industry-defining, as, for the first time, we will produce localized Arabic content ‘for the region, from the region’ to give fans an unrivaled viewing experience.” Andy Warkman, the senior vice-president of sport and sports production at OSN, said.
This new deal is the first major television deal made by the UFC since the promotion was sold to WME-IMG, for $4 billion, last July.
