Ultimate Fighting Championship fans have been anxiously awaiting the return of the popular Nick Diaz, but it looks as if the Stockton fighter will be making a comeback at his own pace.
Diaz’s suspension for his “UFC 183” drug test violation wrapped up in August and there were talks of him challenging Tyron Woodley for his newly won UFC Welterweight Championship. After it was made official that Woodley would be squaring off with Stephen Thompson, rumors started circulating that Diaz could be stepping into the octagon to fight Georges St-Pierre. Obviously, none of that ever materialized and Diaz recently gave an update on his return while speaking to Daily Star UK:
“Right now, I’m trying to fix my situation. If someone offered me a fight right now, it’s not going to happen. I’m not going to say (yes). I’m like, ‘no.’ I’m going to work my way into the right situation and once I’m there then we can talk about a fight.”
