After getting the rug pulled out from under him when Stefan Struve was forced out of their main event bout, it seems like Junior dos Santos finally has some good news coming his way. ENT Imports has confirmed with Junior dos Santos and his camo that the former heavyweight champion is next in line to square off with UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic in a bout that will take place at “UFC 211” when the company returns to Texas. Combate first reported the news Tuesday afternoon.
Dos Santos and Miocic met previously in December 2014 in a bout that saw Dos Santos walk away with his hands raised in victory. Since that fight, Miocic went on a four fight win-streak knocking out a who’s who in the heavyweight division. Are the stars aligning for revenge from Miocic, or will history repeat itself with a JDS victory?
