UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor may have turned down the WWE to make an appearance at this year’s WrestleMania.
According to the Sun, “WWE has made no secret of its desire to do something with Conor McGregor and there were talks between the two parties about this year.
“Because he’s taking time off from the UFC, there was a talk about doing something at this year’s Wrestlemania in April, but it wasn’t to be despite a hefty offer.”
It is not known how much the WWE may have offered McGregor, but the popular pro-wrestling promotion reportedly paid Floyd “Money” Mayweather $20 million to compete at WrestleMania in 2008.
WWE is known for having some of the biggest combat stars in history appear at WrestleMania. Fighters such as Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, and former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey have all appeared at WrestleMania in the past.
This year’s WrestleMania will take place April 2 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
