Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Jon “Bones” Jones has been forced to sit on the sidelines after being dealt a suspension stemming from his “UFC 200” mishap in July 2016. While most fighters simply train and wait for the opportunity to step into the octagon again, Jones has been keeping busy and most recently submitted Dan Henderson in an exhibition grappling match.
Once fighters saw that Jones was keeping active in between fights, a number of other fighters proceeded to call out the former light heavyweight champion for a go on the mats.
Matt “The Hammer” Hamill is the only fighter to give a blemish on Jones’ mixed martial arts record after Hamill picked up the victory by way of disqualification. Jones struck him with multiple “12 to 6” elbows that, while they shouldn’t be illegal, technically were. If Jones ever wanted to avenge his loss, now’s the time:
Grappler Vinny Magalhaes asked Hamill if he would be interested in the bout, to which Hamill responded positively:
@hammer_hamill would u compete for @SUG_Grappling against @JonnyBones ? You're the only man who beat him, can u do it again? @FrontRowBrian
