THROWBACK! Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva Was A BEAST All The Way Back In 1999

MMA heavyweight Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva looked quite different back in 1999.

At age 20, Silva looked less like “Bigfoot” and more like a young Alistair Overeem.

It took six more years until the Brazillian would travel to England to make his MMA debut. Since then, he has defeated some of the best heavyweight MMA fighters the world has to offer.

Silva first became well-known in the world of MMA during his time in Strikeforce. In the promotion, he picked up notable wins over Andrei Arlovski and Fedor Emelianenko.

Silva made his UFC debut in 2012. Following knockout wins over Travis Browne and Alistair Overeem, Silva earned a shot at the UFC heavyweight title. Unfortunately, Silva went on to loss to then UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez.

After a three-fight losing streak, and overall losing six of his last eight UFC fights, Silva was released by the UFC.

Silva has since began fighting in Russia. He is currently coming off a decision loss to Ivan Shtyrkov in November.
