On Tuesday, MMA legend Tito Ortiz revealed what Chael Sonnen said to him following their fight during a Facebook Live Q&A.
Last Saturday, at Bellator 170, Oritz submitted Sonnen with a rear-naked choke in the first round of their main event fight.
Their fight started with Ortiz attempting to take Sonnen down. Sonnen landed a sweep on Ortiz and ended up on top. Sonnen attempted a few choke holds before Ortiz reversed position and ended up in full mount. From there, Sonnen rolled to his stomach and left himself open for the rear-naked choke.
“What did Chael say after the fight?” Ortiz repeated after reading the question. “He said, ‘Was that guillotine choke close?’. I said, ‘no’. He goes, ‘was that choke close?’. I was like, ‘No’.”
Following his submission victory, Ortiz retired from MMA. He earned 19 victories throughout his career. He is a former UFC light heavyweight champion and a member of the UFC Hall of Fame.
