Watch Amanda Nunes’ Cageside Reaction To Shevchenko’s Armbar Win

Valentina Shevchenko submitted Julianna Pena in the main event of Saturday’s UFC on FOX event at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

Shevchenko submitted Pena with an armbar in the second round. Pena had taken Shevchenko down and was in dominant position before Shevchenko finished the fight from the bottom.

Sitting ringside was UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes who looked impressed with the finish.

Nunes along with her girlfriend Nina Ansaroff and UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk, all looked stunned by Shevchenko’s impressive performance.

After the fight, Nunes and Shevchenko squared off in the cage and shared some trash talk in preparation of a possible fight in the future.

Last March, Nunes won a decision against Shevchenko at UFC 196. This win earned Nunes her title opportunity at UFC 200. In July, Nunes won the title by submitting then-champion Miesha Tate.

Shevchenko has earned her shot at the UFC title after winning her last two fights. In July, she won a decision against former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm.
