UFC middleweight contender Yoel Romero thinks UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping should retire.
@bisping I am a nice guy. I will give you until Friday 12pm est to announce your retirement. Like this you can stay doing movies #ynuevo
— Yoel Romero (@YoelRomeroMMA) January 31, 2017
On Tuesday, Romero tweeted to Bisping telling him he’ll give him until Friday at noon eastern time to announce his retirement from MMA. He also said this way Bisping can still do movies instead of having to defend his title against him.
UFC President Dana White recently confirmed that Romero will receive the next opportunity at the UFC middleweight title.
Romero is unbeaten both in the UFC and as a middleweight. He is on an eight-fight win streak. In November, at UFC 205, Romero knocked out former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman to earn his shot at the UFC title.
Romero’s win streak also includes victories over Derek Brunson, Brad Tavares, Tim Kennedy, Lyoto Machida, and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.
Bisping is currently sidelined until the spring due to getting surgery on his knee. He last fought in October. At UFC 204, he defended his title by winning a decision against Dan Henderson.
