Following the cancellation of former Pride FC heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko’s main event bout with TUF member Matt Mitrione at Bellator 172, Bellator president Scott Coker has shown renewed interest in getting “The Last Emperor” back into the promotion for his inaugural Bellator bout.
In an interview with Izvestia, Coker explained that his dream bout moving forward would be between heavyweight contender Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal and “The Last Emperor” himself.
While a bout has not yet been set for Emelianenko, his introduction to the Bellator promotion seems inevitable.
Following Matt Mitrione’s unfortunate last minute medical emergency, dropping him from Bellator 172, Emelianenko did not seem to moved.
Scott Coker even mentioned that the fighter claimed that it was God’s decision for him to fight or not.
The stoic heavyweight will certainly get his due before too long, as many fighters are gnawing at the bit to get into the ring with him.
