Following his loss to Conor McGregor in the UFC 202 main event, Nate Diaz accused McGregor of running from him in order to out point a decision victory and get his redemption. McGregor did win the fight by majority decision in a fight many feel was one of the best in 2016.
Unlike in their first fight, Conor did use a more effective strategy to elude Nate and keep from getting tired, or too damaged to emerge and leave Las Vegas victorious.
Diaz felt that the referee John McCarthy should have deducted a point from McGregor for his running, but McCarthy clarified on Twitter in a question from a fan on why he didn’t resort to that course of action.
No not for what he did. There is a big difference between what Conor did and timidity #AskBJM https://t.co/JG8fClAn1V

A trilogy fight seems likely between the two in the future. It looks though the fight will take later in 2017 as McGregor and girlfriend, Dee Devlin are expecting their first child in May.
