Moving on is an important part of life. Yet, it’s nice to know that you’re missed.
Former WWE professional wrestler CM Punk has recently decided to try his hand at MMA. While the WWE star lost in his UFC debut against Mickey Gall at UFC 203, he was offered some solace by a WWE crowd recently.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a good friend of Punk, called the former wrestler to remind him that he still has a community in the WWE.
After a WWE event went off-air, “The Rock” called up Punk on his cellphone, so he could hear the roaring crowd chant his name.
Unfortunately, Punk was not able to answer. A fan pointed out that it was roughly 11:30 P.M. in Punk’s area. Still, Johnson was able to leave a pretty awesome voicemail for the former wrestler turned fighter.
“Hey Punk, it’s Rock. This is not a joke. I am literally calling you from the middle of the Staple Center. We’re about 15,000 strong. I hope you can hear this. Again, it is not a joke. They are chanting your name.” Johnson said, as the Staple Center crowd exploded into an uproarious chant.
CM Punk, or Phil Brooks, lost his debut bout, but is not deterred. The MMA hopeful has talked to UFC president Dana White and is looking for more opponents. A new bout has not yet been announced for the former professional wrestler.
