UFC President Dana White revealed who would be next to fight UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk during Saturday’s UFC Fight Night post-fight show.
White said Jessica Andrade is “absolutely” the next challenger for Jedrzejczyk’s title.
On Saturday, Andrade won a unanimous decision against Angela Hill at the UFC’s annual SuperBowl weekend event, which took place this year at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
Andrade and Hill’s back and fourth battle earned them “Fight of the Night” honors.
Andrade has earned a shot at the UFC strawweight title after going on a three-fight win streak in the division.
In June, at UFC 199, Andrade made her strawweight debut against former title challenger Jessica Penne. Andrade defeated Penne in the second round by TKO.
In September, at UFC 203, Andrade submitted Joanne Calderwood with a guillotine choke at the end of the first round.
White did not confirm when Jedrzejczyk would defend her title against Andrade. However, the strawweight champion recently starting a training camp for her next fight, which suggests the fight may happen sooner rather than later.
