The UFC held it annual SuperBowl weekend event on Feb. 4. “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung returned to the UFC, after over three years away, in the main event. Jung fought featherweight contender Dennis Bermudez. Jung took less than one round to knockout Bermudez.
Jung had not fought in the UFC since Aug. 2013. His absence from the UFC was due to him serving his mandatory military service in his native country of South Korea.
Jung’s last fight was a TKO loss to UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo. He earned his title shot after going on a three-fight win streak in the UFC. Jung’s win streak included a twister submission win over Leonard Garcia, a seven-second knockout over Mark Hominick, and a submission win over Dustin Poirier.
With his win over Bermudez, Jung is right back in the same position he was in when he left. He’s once again one of the top contenders at 145 pounds.
