Ultimate Fighting Championship made their way into the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and while the event left more to be desired for fight fans, this is an event people will be talking about for a long time.
Germaine de Randamie and Holly Holm met inside the octagon to decide the fate of the women’s featherweight championship and de Randamie rocked Holm with a shot after the horn not once, but twice. Holm responded to de Randamie’s punches at the post-fight press conference and claimed that she thinks the punches were intentional:
“A lot of the times after the first one, you’re given a warning. That’s kind of normal. I wouldn’t expect him to take a point after the first one even though it was intentional. Then, the second time you think that at that point they would do something…”
“It wasn’t like it was the last punch of the combination and the bell rang. It was intentional. It was after the bell. Those were some of her best shots the whole fight, after the bell.”
