During Saturday’s UFC Fight Night post-fight show, UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley said he is not afraid to fight former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nick Diaz.
“Number one, I ain’t never scared of nobody,” Woodley said while answering a fan’s question. “He was actually offered the fight but for some reason, it never happened. There is no after “Wonderboy.” It’s “Wonderboy” and “Wonderboy” only.
“God forbid the 209 ever think Nick Diaz is scared. I’m not saying he’s scared. I’m saying, ‘The ball was put in the court for that to happen.'”
Woodley is scheduled to defend his title for the second time against Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson in the main event of UFC 209 on March 4 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Woodley defended his title against Thompson back in November at UFC 205. However, the judges of the fight scored the fight as a majority draw resulting in the two fighting in an immediate rematch.
